Showcasing the Breadth of Schott Glass at KBIS 2025

For KBIS 2025, I was tasked with creating a feature video that highlighted the vast range of products and industries Schott Glass is a part of. With such a broad scope, the challenge was clear: how do we showcase the sheer number of implementations in a compelling, concise way?

Creative Approach: The Power of Glass
Given the limitations of a two-minute runtime, listing every product application wasn’t feasible. Instead, we took a creative approach—what if the entire video was made of glass? By using glass itself as a storytelling medium, we could visually represent Schott’s influence across multiple industries while maintaining a cohesive and elegant aesthetic.

Technical Challenges & Solutions
This concept brought its own set of technical challenges, from complex geometry to rendering hurdles. Fortunately, advancements in VRay’s GPU rendering, denoising, and refraction limiting played a crucial role in making the project possible. These tools helped optimize rendering times, ensuring we met our deadlines without compromising quality.

To streamline post-production, I leveraged scripted workflows, allowing for dynamic adjustments that could easily align with the client’s feedback. This approach made the project not only efficient but also highly adaptable.

A Successful Showcase
The final video was well received, making a strong impact at the show and delivering exactly what Schott Glass needed—a visually stunning representation of their expansive reach. It was a rewarding project that pushed creative and technical boundaries, and I’m thrilled with how it all came together.
