The goal wasn’t to build more website. It was to build the right website.

Less website. More experience.

The previous Hurm Family Dentistry website had grown into a massive digital footprint: 95 pages, more than 24,500 files, and 538 MB of accumulated content and infrastructure.

None of that complexity was necessary.

The new site is just 2 pages and 37 files, weighing in at 3.89 MB—while retaining the information patients actually need. Rather than simply deleting content, I reorganized and condensed it around the way people actually use a dental website.

The result is a site that feels substantially larger than it actually is: more focused, easier to navigate, faster to load, and far easier to maintain.

A visit to the dentist can already create enough anxiety. The website shouldn’t add to it.

The new visual language uses generous space, soft presentation, clear typography, approachable imagery, and a deliberately restrained interface to create an experience that feels calm, welcoming, and human.

A little fun never hurts.

Not everything on a dental website needs to be serious.

I designed and built a small interactive tooth-cleaning experience as an unexpected Easter egg for visitors. There’s no complicated purpose behind it—it simply gives people something playful to interact with.

It turned out to be one of the site’s favorite features.

Sometimes the smallest interaction is the thing people remember.

The redesign wasn’t just about making the site look better. It was about giving the practice control over its digital presence.

The previous site was tied to an expensive, opaque maintenance arrangement through GoDaddy, with a huge collection of accumulated files and infrastructure that made the site difficult to understand and maintain.

The new site was built from the ground up and moved to a simpler hosting arrangement. Hurm Family Dentistry now owns its website and its underlying digital assets without carrying the weight of an unnecessarily complicated system.
