Big Little Pictures is a small, independent creative and technical studio focused on turning complex ideas into clear, compelling visual experiences.

I work directly with companies, engineering teams, manufacturers, agencies, and organizations that need to explain something difficult, visualize something that doesn’t exist yet, or communicate an idea with greater impact.

From 3D visualization and animation to interactive experiences, technical communication, and custom production tools, the goal is simple:

Who Am I?

I’m Joel Eckert, the person behind Big Little Pictures.

I’ve spent more than 25 years working at the intersection of art, technology, and communication. My background is in 3D visualization and animation, but my work has always gone beyond making things look good.

I find motivation in the space between ‘How?’ and ‘Got it.’

I’ve worked with engineers, developers, manufacturers, marketers, and creative teams, learning enough about their problems to understand what actually needs to be communicated. That often means building the visualization, writing the script, developing the tool, solving the technical problem, or creating the workflow that makes the whole thing possible.

I’m a creative who can think like a technologist, and a technologist who knows how to communicate visually.

That’s what Big Little Pictures was built around.
